Krista Adams Santilli, Soprano

Hailed by the Baltimore Sun as “vocally spectacular”, lyric soprano Krista Adams Santilli has performed principal roles in operas, musicals, oratorios and plays and has concertized throughout the United States and on four continents. A Classically trained soprano, Ms. Adams Santilli has been praised for her vast repertoire, which crosses a variety of musical genres, from gospel to opera, jazz to musical theatre.

Career highlights from the theatrical stage include Rigoletto (Gilda) with Cheju-do Opera, South Korea; The Singer (Ada Giacchetti) with Diamante Films International, Italy; The Pirates of Penzance (Mabel) with The Young Victorian Theatre Company, Baltimore, MD; Le Nozze di Figaro (Barbarina, Susanna cover) with Opera Birmingham, AL; Sweeney Todd (Johanna) with The Annapolis Chorale, MD; Agrippina (Poppea) with The Opera Theatre and Music Festival of Lucca, Italy; The Fantasticks! (Luisa) with Live Arts Maryland; and A Little Night Music (Anne Egerman) with Theatre Tuscaloosa, AL.

Oratorio soloist appearances include: Bach’s St. John Passion, Vivaldi’s Gloria and Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater with The Annapolis Chorale, MD (J. Ernest Green, conductor) and Mozart's Grand Mass in c-minor with The Tuscaloosa Symphony Orchestra (Shinik Hahm, conductor).

A frequent recitalist and concertizer, noteworthy peformances include solo recitals for DAMS, Bologna, Italy and the Internationales Theater, Frankfurt, Germany; a concert tour in New South Wales, Australia; and a National Anthem performance at Giants Stadium. From 2009 to 2011 Krista toured around the country and abroad as the vocalist in more than 250 concerts with pianist and composer Eric Genuis, performing in a wide variety of venues, from concert halls to churches, schools to prisons, including the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in Los Angeles, the Sears Center Arena in Chicago and the US Military Base at Fort Hood in Texas.

A native of Birmingham, AL, Krista graduated with a BM in vocal performance and a minor in Italian from the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, where she was awarded a full vocal scholarship. She spent the two years following graduation studying and performing in Italy and Germany. Krista has sung on master classes with was Elly Ameling, Dalton Baldwin and Richard Woitach. She has been has been recognized in such competitions as the state-level Metropolitan Opera Competition; Mobile Opera Competition; Young Artist’s Competition of the Birmingham Music Club; the state and regional-levels of NATS (National Association Critical Acclaim of Teachers of Singing) Competition; the New Amsterdam Symphony Orchestra’s Young Artist Competition, NYC; and the the Connecticut Opera Theatre's Amici Vocal Competition, in which she was awarded both first prize and the Galli-Campi Award for the most promising coloratura. In 2008, Krista released her first solo album, Sacrae Notae, featuring some of Classical music's most beloved Sacred vocal works.

Krista resides in Connecticut with her husband and three children. Inspired by the mission of Virginia’s House of Hope, she is honored to be a part of the Fourth Annual Virginia Maitland Sachs Charity Concert.
